A Quick Love Note

I love organic velour! I do. Really. It makes my eyes happy, my fingers happy and I want more. In more colors. Dolls need making and they need to be made with this fabric.

I buy the fabric from Bunte Fabrics which is listed in my supplies section. These dolls are in my Etsy shop. The green Star Child doll is made with regular velour. Very dear also.

Cute dolls! Popped over from Ravelry to visit your blog; love, love the crowns in Living Crafts! Wanted to make one as soon as the issue came in, before I ever discovered I had seen you in the Waldorf dolls group.

I love these dolls. The dotty ones and the stripy ones are my favorites.

Berry, do you have any advice for sewing this kind of fabric? I just tried it for the first time and it is driving me nuts, sooooo slippery! I am unable to keep the shape of the pattern. Yet I like the feel and the look of it so much... am I doomed to long hours of handsewing?

Yes! I never cut my pattern first. I always trace, sew then cut. For small dolls this works best.
Let me know if this works for you.

Thank you, that made all the difference! Now I am a happy lady : )

I wish we lived closer to each other, I dream about becoming your apprentice. There is so much I need to learn, and I would so love a dollmaker friend to sit and stich with. I make good coffee, too, haha.
