Full Moon Baby for Full Circle Baby

This is my 15" Full Moon Baby. Lisa, at Full Circle Baby, ordered it for her daughter. I love her kimono top so much. It is made from a Mousefeathers dress that I've had for a long time. I bought it used and the fabric was in perfect condition. Recycling boutique dresses has always been a way to use unique fabrics for my doll's clothes.
There were two fabrics on this particular dress. The flower baskets were the main fabric and the floral with the blue background was the coordinating fabric. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out

Sweet Summer Felt Balls

Sweet Summer Cherry Set

Eat your Veggies Bib

Cherry Berry Fairy

These are a few of the things I've been working on for my Hyenacart. Check them out and let me know what you think. I love making dolls and quilts and I'm working on some special orders. I will post pictures when they are finished. If I could just squeeze 2 or 3 more days into the weekend. Is that too mush to ask?

After a long hiatus here I am

Well...if you are reading this, I thank you!. I have been gone from my blog for so long and now I hope to keep it up in a more regular fashion. Having just returned from my very first "grown up" vacation, I feel strong and focused. Here's to hoping it lasts!
Here is a bit of what I've been working on. Waldorf Dolls and Pom Pom Bunnies. Oh my!
Available on my Etsy page and my Hyenacart page.
My next project is to figure out how to put pictures and words on this blog 'o' mine in a way that is more visually appealing.

New Pom Pom Bunnies

I'm a bit hooked on these Pom Pom Bunnies. They are so fun to make and a delight to look at. The top bunny is standing on her spool of baker's twine and has a bouquet of vintage flowers just for you!
The bottom one is a Pom Pom Bunny Box. She stands 9" tall on her blue trinket box. The box is lined with old sheet music. They are for sale on my Etsy site. www.moonchildstudio.etsy.com . Check them out!

Moonchild and Star dolls and a lesson for Berrie

These little lovelies are off to live in Santa Cruz and enjoy the California life. Thank you so much Tracy for buying these just for yourself. I have met a few women over the years who want one of my dolls to have for themselves and I remind myself to add a few of my favorite things to my everyday life.

I make. I sell. I make. I sell. Never keeping something aside for me. Now I have the wonderful opportunity to meet other artist/crafters online and participate in swaps and and actually own a little piece of art created by someone else.

What a wonderful life!

The Great PomPom Bunny Give-away

I was so inspired by the first pompom bunny that I just kept on making them. I ended up with seven which I'm certain qualifies as a full fledged "litter". I had decided to pass them on to some of my c0-workers. I arrived a bit early to work and placed them on the desks of the recipients. They were quite well received and I'll be making a few more to pass out.

One sweet Easter Bunny

This darling Easter Bunny is made with the tutorial from Jennifer Murphy. I can be found here: http://www.jmurphybears.com/martha.html
She was very fun and easy to make. I am working on a few more to give as gifts. I'll be using my hand dyed wool felt for the pin cushion tuffett upon which she stands

Dying Wool Felt with Food Dye

There are many ways to dye felt and this is one of my favorites:

Fill a large pot 2/3 full with water and put on stove (on high).
Add 1/2 cup white vinegar.
Dissolve a small amount of Wilton icing tint paste in a cup of hot water.
Add dye to pot.
Pre-wet felt in warm water and then add to the pot. Let felt simmer.
The felt will absorb most of the dye.
Remove from pot, rinse, and squeeze out excess water.
Dry in the dryer

The tint paste comes in loads of colors and is available in any craft store that carries cake decorating supplies. It is non-toxic and very easy to use.

A Quilt For Aria

Well Saturday was a fruitful day. I got a quilt done and finished up a few little Waldorf dolls. The quilt is for my good friend Cynthia's grandaughter Aria. She will be "1" in June and this quilt was a long time coming. Enjoy this gift of love Sweet Aria. I can't wait to meet you at the end of next month.

What will I make today?

5:22 am. Why am I already awake? This happens a lot. I wake up with the thought of "what will I make today?" on my mind. Morning inspiration is the best. After working all week in my "real job", the thought of staying home and just "makin' stuff" is a mouth watering proposition. First, I think, I'll clean up my crafting area. No that won't work for me today. Maybe I'll get a little done around the house. Take the trash to the dump, get the kitchen spiffy, maybe a trip to Costco (no small thing as we are on an island and Costco is not).
Flower Fairy pencils and small quilts have been on my mind lately. I picked up some glittery pencils recently an they have perched themselves on my ironing board, taunting me to add little fairies to them.
My good friend Cynthia has a granddaughter turning One soon and the wee one hasn't received one of my quilts yet. I'm feeling pretty inspired to get cracking on a very pink quilt for little Aria.
Off to my studio to see what my day holds.
